So, you’ve just bought an RV, and want to name it. Here are some helpful tips.
The last time we went camping, I asked my husband what the name of our camper was. After a long pause, he replied, “The white one.” 🙂
I’m not sure if he was joking or not. If he wasn’t, then it makes sense that this would be the first question that popped into his mind. We have a large family and so do most of our friends. We also have three young children and so do many of our friends. It is quite common for families to own two or three campers. But why on earth do we give them names? Why does the Hendersons’ camper need a name?
First, think of a unique name. You need to find a good combination of words you like. Maybe you can use the name of a famous explorer. Examples are: “Marco”, “Tintin”, “Atom”, “Uranium”. It is also possible to use the names of your parents or friends. The most popular names for campers are: “Rambo”, “Janet(e)”, “Summer” and “Caravan”.

Cool RV Names
Here are some tips on how to find a cool RV name:
Keep it short, but do not make it plain. The long names just look tacky and don’t seem like an important vehicle. Also, choose something that has a story behind it that you can share with friends while on the road!
Pick a preferred theme. If you love sports, pick something related to that or that represents your favorite team. If you love science, try and pick something related to that. Make sure it’s funny and memorable!
Don’t go over the top with your theme. You don’t want to look silly when parked at a campsite or gas station. Pick one main theme and expand from there.

Pop Culture RV Names
The first step to finding a pop culture RV name is deciding what you want your name to be. A good pop culture name is not easily forgotten. It’s also unique, but not so much that it’s hard to remember.
A good way to start is by picking a character from a book or movie that you enjoy. The best kind of names are descriptive ones, such as “the strong man.” If you like pop culture, you’ll probably enjoy thinking up names. Consider the types of names that are out there and think about what your family would call you before coming up with something that works for you.
We found this pop culture RV name database list at BookRVW.com. There are over 1,000 names listed and they are focused on the top most popular RVs (i.e. Airstream). It’s an interesting database to use if you want to find a pop culture RV name.

Song RV Names
To find a song’s RV Name, first you need to know what kind of music it is. Is it rock? Pop? Classical? Rap? Then you need to listen to the music without any distractions and keep listening until you hear the name of the song in your mind.
Afterwards, look at that word and see if it is an ordinary real world word for that kind of music or not. If so, then that was the song’s ordinary real world name and you are done; if not, then keep listening until you hear the name in your mind again and write that down instead. Rinse and repeat until you get to a real world word.* Then type all these down into a text file and run a script on it that will take each RV Name and search for it online in youtube videos etc for you.
